And let whoever knows it better say it better.” (Sándor Márai)

The company’s improvisative way of acting is based on classical music and it makes each performance unique and exciting. For one can never know what emotional structures and relational networks will be built, characteristic of that specific evening. Just like one cannot know in advance, either, what atmosphere their current appearance will convey. Everything is determined in front of the audience, on the stage. There are no drilled moves or designed choreographies: only emotions and musical dynamics, waiting to come to life exclusively for a single evening.

    COMMON AND VISIONARY

A performance by Medve (Bear) Ensemble

based on Sándor Márai’s Herb Book

    Featuring: the actress NÓRA BENKŐ
    and the violinist SÁNDOR FARKAS
    Directed by: GYÖRGY HALMY

“It is not a scholarly book, just one used in elementary schools. The one who wrote it does not know the ultimate truth and is not ashamed of being wrong in the details. Because he is a human. Hence this will be a sort of book like old herb books meant to answer questions with simple examples, such as what to do when your heart aches or when you are forsaken by God. And let whoever knows it better say it better.” (Sándor Márai)

tel.: 266 7130, by card: www.jegy.hu, in Interticket’s nationwide network, as well as at Fészek reception.

At the theatrical implementation, the dual, male- and female-spirited manifestation of his self, contradicting at first sight, are rendered by two different actors, the Man and the Woman. His different identities not infrequently coexist in quarrel and rage, not tolerating each other. At other times, he overcomes his problems like an initiated person of the East or a wise shaman, and while angry with his community, he fights for it. From his Testament, we reach as far as the concluding idea: “I surmount the battle with saddened anger, / my dream and my death are belated… / So I will never die.”

     AN IMPROVISATIVE DANCE EVENING
     BY MEDIC’ALL ART DANCE COMPANY
    “THE MURMUR OF THE SPRING”

    Artistic director: GABRIELLA CSABAI

The company’s improvisative way of acting is based on classical music and it makes each performance unique and exciting. For one can never know what emotional structures and relational networks will be built, characteristic of that specific evening. Just like one cannot know in advance, either, what atmosphere their current appearance will convey. Everything is determined in front of the audience, on the stage. There are no drilled moves or designed choreographies: only emotions and musical dynamics, waiting to come to life exclusively for a single evening.

What is Kalamona, after all? Well, it is something that nobody knows. One is certain: he has tied up the wind, because the king’s world-famous daughter won’t marry him. We don’t only learn from the musical stage adaptation of the original folk tale who will be the princess’ husband, but also how long the way is from being a swineherd to the royal throne.

The 36 Ady poems of the programme present the fate-dictated and magical way of experiencing a still debated and misunderstood image of God, a display of marvellous interior images, recalling the treasury of Hungarian myths in an archaic and at the same time new fashion, delightfully singing of popular piety, and the spell of the presence of a paradisiacal state and unbelief without fear.
